Dear Ms McGrath
The J S Battye Library of West Australian History in partnership with the National Library of Australia aims to build a comprehensive collection of Australian publications to ensure that Australians have access to their documentary heritage now and in the future.
The libraries have traditionally collected items in print, but we are now committed to preserving electronic publications of lasting cultural value.
We have been assessing online publications and identifying those that we consider have significance. An electronic facility called the PANDORA (Preserving and Accessing Networked Documentary Resources of Australia) Archive, which enables the archiving and provision of long term access to online Australian publications has been set up. Additional information about PANDORA can be found on the National Library's server at: http://pandora.nla.gov.au
Access to items of Western Australian significance will also be available through the Library and Information Service of Western Australia catalogue at http://www.liswa.wa.gov.au
We would like to include Art Seen in Western Australia in the PANDORA Archive and would be grateful if you would permit us to do so. We have provided a small form at the end of this message for your convenience. You may simply complete the form and return it to us or reply in your own words.
Yours faithfully
Glenda Oakley
